Divergent - by Veronica Roth

I'm not even going to write about how much I enjoyed reading The Hunger Games. But after reading the trilogy I felt a void. I liked the apocalyptic setting of the books and Amazon helped me stubmle upon Divergent by Veronica Roth. It's along the same line as The Hunger Games, but darker and a bit more violent. It's set in dystopian Chicago where the society is broken into five factions. When one turns 16, he or she must decide what faction they want to belong to. As like other books, the main characters soon discover that the society they live in may not be so great.

This book is the first in a trilogy. The second book Insurgent is also available at this time. The third book is due out sometime in 2013. (I caught this one too early and now can't WAIT until the final book is available!)

11/3/2013 Update

So I recently read Allegient, the third book in the series. I am sad to say, I wasn't so thrilled with this book. The first two were so good and this one was just lacking something. I wasn't at all pleased with the ending. Look, it's dystopian fiction and the setting for these types of books are never happy, sunshine and glitter. I think I was just hoping for a somewhat of a "happier" ending than the direction the author decided to go. I still recommend this series if you are looking for something to read. I would love to talk about your thoughts on the ending!
