The Silver Linings Playbook - By Matthew Quick

Anytime a movie is coming out that’s based on a book, I typically read the book first to see if I want to spend the money and see it in a theater. Right now all that’s being talked about is The Silver Lining Playbook, especially if you are from the Philadelphia area.

I thought this was a good book and an enjoyable read. I’m interested to see how Hollywood will adapt this book to the big screen.

Pat Peoples goes through a traumatic experience that puts the story in motion. He’s in a mental institution and is released into his mother’s care. He wants to reunite with his wife and show her the changes he’s made in his lifestyle in order to make her happy and show that he loves her. But so much has changed between the time he entered the facility until now and he can’t remember any of it. He meets Tiffany who has also been through a rough time and tries to help Pat see reality and not the movie he has playing in his head. During this time he also works with his therapist who is also a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan and struggles with his not-so-ideal family environment.

I think you’ll enjoy following Pat as he regains his memory and comes to terms with reality.
